FAQ

  • A.m. And p.m. snacks are provided in house. However, you are able to opt in to our catered lunch option. Alternatively, you can choose to pack your own lunch. Please note we are not free facility.

Yes, we provide nap time for children under three years old.

The government offers grants for children of kindergarten age and younger,

applicable for both full-time and part-time care, based on hourly needs. Additionally, families can apply for subsidies to assist with child care costs. Eligibility for these subsidies is determined by household income. To see if you qualify, please apply through the provided link: Alberta Child Care Subsidy.

Yes, children have outdoor playtime at least twice a day, weather permitting.

When going outside is not an option, we provide indoor spaces for physical

activities.

We use the Brightwheel App to stay in touch with parents and provide updates throughout the day.

Please pack an extra pair of clothes, water bottle, indoor shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing for your child, ensuring everything is labelled with your child’s name.

  • We provide transportation to the following schools in Lakeview: Jennie Elliot School, Altadore School, Calgary Girls Charter School, William Reid School, and Connect Charter School (which provides its own bus). In West Hillhurst we provide transportation to: Queen Elizabeth Elementary School, Hillhurst School, University School, Westmount Charter School, and Maria Montessori School (Chief Crowfoot Location).
  • Please note that bus transportation is weather dependent. In the event of temperatures colder than -35 with the windchill, our buses will not operate. However, you are welcome to personally drop off your child at our facility.
Yes, we follow the CBE School calendar for PD days and school breaks. Please view the 2024-2025 instructional calendar here.

We provide day camps during CBE school breaks however, we are closed on statutory holidays.

Yes, we provide Kindergarten education at both campuses. Our Kindergarten teachers are certified Alberta teachers, and we follow the Alberta Curriculum.

At the beginning of the year, we conduct speech and occupational evaluations for 3 and older. For those requiring additional support, we offer weekly visits from a speech language pathologist and an occupational therapist.

  • 7:30am- 9am: Before Care
  • 9am-3:30pm: Instructional Hours
  • 3:30pm-6pm: After School Care
  • Lakeview location: Children are required to be potty trained.
  • West Hillhurst location: Children three and up are required to be potty trained.
  • Please note that we do not supply diapers and wipes. We kindly request that
    parents provide their own, considering individual sensitivities.
